I’m a huge fan of acai bowls so any time I visit Hawaii, it’s a must-have. It’s just so refreshing when it’s hot outside. I like that acai bowls also fill you up but it feels healthy and doesn’t make you feel heavy after eating. My top 3 favorite acai spots in Maui are on different parts of the island and this is in no specific order!
1. Paia Bowls
Paia Bowls is one of my favorite places because their bowls are so tasty and fresh. They also have really good smoothies and toast. I love this little gem tucked away in Paia because of its aesthetic too. They have a small little seating area but they tend to be busy so there might not be available tables.
A downside of Paia is that their service is slow because they’re usually busy and can’t keep up with the orders with only two people working. However, if you do get a chance, this is a great spot for breakfast or a snack.
2. a’a ROOTS
a’a Roots is a vegan spot located in Lahaina. They have amazing bowls and are very accommodating towards allergies. The bowls are pretty big, so they are great for sharing! I love that they also spend time trying to make everything look nice, whether it’s their acai bowls or food.
If you ever visit a’a Roots definitely try an acai bowl, but get their avocado toast too because it’s bomb! If you also love passionfruit, get their passionfruit smoothie because it’s the best smoothie I have ever had.
3. Wow Wow Hawaiian Lemonade
Wow Wow Hawaiian Lemonade is a trendy and popular place located in Kihei. They have a variety of bowls and they are all made with fresh ingredients.
I like that they are a super instagrammable place but also have great items. I feel like sometimes a place can be cute and trendy but their food is just mediocre. This is definitely not the case for Wow Wow Hawaiian Lemonade.
If you ever try one of their bowls, you’ll have to also try one of their amazing lemonades. They have tons of different flavors, but you can’t really go wrong!
No matter where you are in Maui, you can easily find an acai place because they’re everywhere. Acai bowls make great snacks after a dip in the ocean or better yet, take them with you to the beach! So the next time you are in Maui, check out one of these spots because you won’t regret it!
